Abstract
Based on the rearing in Nagano Prefecture, Honshu, Japan, Rubus idaeus subsp. nipponicus is recorded as a host plant of Pamphilius hortorum (KLUG, 1808). The life history of the species is outlined and the mature larva is briefly described. This is the first record of the host plant and immature stages of P. hortorum in Asia.
