Siphonatrophia cupressi is native to North and Central America and was introduced into Europe. Based on specimens collected from Juniperus chinensis 'Kaizuka' in southwestern Japan, we first record S. cupressi from Japan. It is likely that S. cupressi reproduce parthenogenetically even in winter in southwestern Japan. This exotic aphid could expand into other regions of Japan due to wide cultivation of J. chinensis.
