Present status on bone marrow transplantation in U. S. A.

Abstract

Bone marrow transplantation is increasingly used to treat patients with bone marrow failure whether due to abnormalities of hematopoietic stem cells or to cancer. In this manuscript we will review the current status of bone marrow transplantation in two diseases, aplastic anemia and leukemia. Specific problem areas will be discussed in detail.
