Abstract

The final purpose of this research is development of the boiler fuel for reuse of the abandoned cooking oil. This paper indicates the result that estimated the thermophysical property of W/O emulsion type fuel. The continuum phase of test fuel is mixture of heavy oil or kerosene and cooking oil. It is known that micro-burning of dispersed fine liquid brings a secondary atomization action and burning promotion. This paper deals with the measured result of the calorific value and the viscous characteristic that are needed when changing from conventional kerosene or heavy oil to using waste cooking oil mixture W/O emulsion fuel. Measured calorific value is estimated by the addictive property law. Test fuel is indicated the non-Newtonian characteristic by measured results of viscosity. Therefore, the exponentiation law is used for correlation of the viscosity.
