Abstract
Time variations of temperature distribution across the rear face of a thin specimen are observed in the laser flash heat capacity measurement. The energy distribution of a laser beam is made uniform by transmitting the beam through an optical fiber In a limited area and time, the adiabatic boundary condition is set up with negligible radial heat loss in the thin specimen. A measuring method of local heat capacity is discussed.
