Abstract
A 4-month-old Japanese Black calf showed lameness of the left hind limb since the age 2 months. The affected limb was hyperextended, and it swung like a pendulum when walking, without any sign of pain. Radiography showed no abnormality. From these observations, the case was diagnosed as spastic paresis, and partial tibial neurectomy was performed. The clinical signs improved soon after the surgery, and the calf recovered without any recurrence.
