Abstract

Information Architecture is broadly known as a process and element of web design based on library science, and has developed since 1997 mainly in the US. Now the information architecture grew from a web design into an user experience design. Besides the web based technics, the concept of information architecture was originally brought by Richard Saul Wurman who is known as an editor and the founder of TED Conference. He published a book named Information Architects in 1997, in this book he defined information architect as a designer of human understanding. Recently an integrated meaning of information architecture is known as a modern definition. In this article, I make a survey of the history and outlines of information architecture.
