Machine Learning as Elemental Technology of AI, and its Application to Patent Information

Abstract

The remarkable development of AI in recent years is composed of aggregates of various elemental technologies. In the task that computers realize human being’s intelligence, machine learning is a core element technology. Our company NTT DATA Mathematical Systems Inc. develops and sells tools for machine learning according to applicable fields and problem setting, and we also solve customers’problems through consulting services using these tools. In this paper, we introduce our company’s effort and give an overview of elemental technologies, and describe examples of application of machine learning to patent information.
