Panoramic view of the nanotechnology/materials research field

Abstract

In the current IoT/AI/bigdata era, Nanotechnology/Materials technology supports highly sensitive and reliable sensing technology and advanced information processing technology, and is a technological field that realizes new technologies and devices that lead the industry. It is also a technological basis to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this paper, we introduce policies/national strategies in major countries, the relationship between transition of society and evolution of nanotechnology, and R&D trends, and give a panoramic view of Nanotechnology/Materials field. Finally, we explain 6 social needs in this field and 10 grand challenges to be promoted.
