Recently, the importance of patent analysis has increased, and I feel that the amount and type of data handled has increased. Along with that, the tools have moved from Excel and patent map creation software to programming languages such as Python. These tools can process data at high speed and not only help automation, but also eliminate manual operations, and can improve reproducibility and reliability of work. This article introduces the processing (pre-processing, aggregation, and visualization) of patent data using “Python” and “pandas”.
