A female patient with psoriasis vulgaris developed pustularform eruptions while being treated with thiamazole for her hyperthyroidism. The exudative pustular eruptions rapidly subsided with the use of oral potassium iodide. The measurement of oxygen intermediates showed that the generation of superoxide anion (02) and hydroxyl radical (OH ·) by polymorphonuclear neutrophils in the peripheral blood was high at the peak of the pustular attack.
