This paper presents a research on river-crossing-performance of a rescue boat. Generally rescue boats are drived with oar or engine. In case of river flood, the paper proposes here an alternative method to cross the river using the river current. The authors investigate this method here by model boat experiments, actual boat experiments, and numerical simulation of a ship.
