To best support activities outside the classroom of beginner level Japanese language students, firstly, preliminary guidance, based on the learners' limited Japanese ability and the anxiety caused by using Japanese in everyday situations, should be stressed, and secondly, review and feedback of learners' experiences, to promote awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses. In this report, effective classroom teaching methods, in order to help learners' readily tackle everyday situations outside the classroom, are discussed, as well as remaining problems which need to be resolved.
