Abstract
In an intermediate class, we conducted a reflection activity in which international students reflect on their roles in the classroom to raise awareness of the meaning of their classroom participation. The results showed that the classroom culture and the roles of students changed by the characteristics of the subject and the classroom activities. Repeated consciousness of one's role in the classroom can lead to awareness of one's new role, awareness of responsibility and strengthening of one's role. It can be used as a tool for metacognition in how one participates in the classroom.
