Abstract
This study conducted a usability investigation focusing on "Nihongo Overlapping" to examine considerations for pronunciation learning support tools utilizing ICT, as sought by learners. The results revealed that, regardless of Japanese proficiency levels, ensuring usability for learners requires: (1) functionality enabling operation without reliance on text-based instructions, (2) introducing effective utilization methods for the tool, (3) incorporating demonstration videos, and (4) ensuring the tool's capability to accommodate the practice of longer sentences. Additionally, a potential misalignment was identified between the perspectives of teachers and learners regarding desired features. When introducing or developing such tools, consideration of usability from the learners' standpoint becomes imperative.
