Abstract

Let ๐‘ž be a positive integer ( โ‰ฅ 2), ๐œ’ be a Dirichlet character modulo ๐‘ž, ๐ฟ(๐‘ , ๐œ’) be the attached Dirichlet ๐ฟ-function, and let ๐ฟโ€ฒ (๐‘ , ๐œ’) denote its derivative with respect to the complex variable ๐‘ . Let ๐‘ก0 be any fixed real number. The main purpose of this paper is to give an asymptotic formula for the 2๐‘˜-th power mean value of |(๐ฟโ€ฒ/๐ฟ)(1 + ๐‘–๐‘ก0, ๐œ’)| when ๐œ’ runs over all Dirichlet characters modulo ๐‘ž (except the principal character when ๐‘ก0 = 0).
