A Comparison of Characteristics of Doctors Depending on Implementation of Home Health Care:Towards an Increase in Doctors Entering Home Health Care

Abstract

In this paper, after clarifying the difference in the characteristics of doctors according to “the implementation of home health care” and “accepting new patients for home health care, ” with the medical member survey data conducted by Toyota-Kamo medical association in 2016, we described the consideration for prompting doctors to participate home medical care system. In the multiple logistic regression analysis with “the implementation of home health care” as an objective variable, we found the following variables to be relevant to it: “the recognition of the current status of visiting nursing,” “the commuting” and “the participating in the introductory training of home health care.” In the analysis with “the accepting new patients for home health care” as another objective variable, “the implementation of home health care” and “the participating in the introductory training of home health care” were related factors. To increase the number of doctors participating in the home medical care system, we asserted the following: to appeal to doctors who do not need commuting; to develop an awareness of the home healthcare system; to Improve training on home healthcare; to provide the training tailored to the needs of doctors.
