In recent years, the increasing value of human resources, driven by the decline in the working-age population and the growing global interest in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investments, has led to a paradigm shift. Employee health is now viewed not as a cost but as an investment in the future. Consequently, the management technique known as health management has garnered significant attention. However, awareness of health management remains limited among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and its full integration into their business practices has yet to be achieved. This study aimed to verify this hypothesis through a questionnaire survey. The findings revealed that SMEs adopting health management practices tend to align their health promotion initiatives with their management concerns, in contrast to SMEs that do not deliberately implement health management strategies. The results of this study suggest that SMEs not implementing health management may fail to associate health management with broader management issues and may not fully recognize the importance of incorporating health management as a strategic approach.
