Abstract
A small-scale solar energy system having a sunlight concentrating system of a compact heliostat type, which includes a new tracking mechanism for collectively driving a group of small mirrors, is proposed. The tracking mechanism includes a common driving member and driven mechanism units which are collectively driven by the common driving member. The driven mechanism units are respectively provided for the small mirrors. The common driving member drives the group of small mirrors collectively through the driven-mechanism units so that sunlight reflected by each mirror is directed toward a convergence point.
