In this study, the effects of equivalence ratio on laminar burning velocity and Markstein length were studied for S5R/air mixtures. S5R is a gasoline surrogate fuel which simulates octane number (RON and MON) of Japanese regular gasoline. The laminar burning velocities have been calculated by analyzing the pressure histories in the constant volume combustion vessel. The laminar burning velocities at equivalence ratio of 0.6 ~ 1.1 were acquired in this study. The experiments of flame propagation near-limits were conducted in a short-drop free-fall laboratory facility that provides 0.6 s of microgravity condition. The laminar burning velocities decreased with equivalence ratio decreases in the lean conditions. The Markstein lengths increased with equivalence ratio decreases.
