This report contains the results of the further investigations carried out for North America, on the periodic fluctuations of monthly mean air temperature, propounded in the 1st part of this paper and named M-system, whose periods are within several months.
It has been found that they are distinct in the continental districts. Some of the facts ascertained tend to show that they are of a physical structure similar to gossamer phenomena on the continent, diffusion of cooler or warmer air masses, generated by the shifting of their thermal centre.
