We have applied a computer simulation to analyze a video signal recording on double layered media. From the analysis of the remanent magnetization for the recording of a signal that a low frequency C-signal is superimposed on a high frequency Y-signal, the recording depth of the Y-signal is less than 0.3μm and the C-signal was recorded in the middle layer of the medium. Moreover, we show that perpendicularly oriented Ba-ferrite particulate media is superior for the Y-signal recording to longitudinally oriented metal particulate media. Therefore, we conclude that the double layered media, which have both the perpendicularly oriented particulate top layer and the longitudinally oriented particulate bottom layer, are extremely effective for the recording of a signal with a wide frequency region.
