The magnetic properties of Co-Fe electrodeposited alumite films are investigated with regard to the alloy compositions of the films. The Co-Fe particles electrodeposited in the alumite films are single phase alloy particles. The Co-Fe alloy electrodeposited film with very small pore diameter of 150 Å shows the largest value of maximum magnetic energy product ( BHmax ) of 1.44 MGOe comparing with other compositions. This Co-Fe electrodeposited alumite film with small pore diameter is a promising perpendicular magnetic recording media for magnetic rotary encoders.
