低線速仕様MOディスクの記録感度の安定性

Rewritable compact discs (CDs) using magnetooptical (MO) materials have been developed. The disks were prepared by depositing Si₃N₄, TbFeCo alloy, Si₃N₄ and Al films on polycarbonate substrates utilizing a rnagnetron sputtering system. Sputter etching was carried out for Si₃N₄, under-layer of magnetic layer, with the very interesting effect of improvement of the external magnetic field sensitivity. Stabilities on write power and magnetic field sensitivity for the above MO disks were investigated. In this paper, the relation between recording sensitivity stability and the sputter etching effect is reported.
