The magnetoresistance and heat treatment dependence of the magnetic phase transition of Fe47Rh53 alloys were studied. A CsCl-type α' phase was obtained by a slow cooling from 900°C to room temperature. During the transition from the ferromagnetic phase (F) to the antiferromagnetic phase (AF), a reversible and negative magnetic field dependence of the resistivity was observed. The granular magnetic structure of F+AF is suggested as one cause of this magnetoresistance, which is similar to the GMR of granular alloys.
