Lithium ferrite nanocrystals were synthesized using polyethylene glycol as a protecting agent for colloidal particles via the sol-gel process. The microwave absorbing properties of lithium ferrite nanocrystals were investigated on the frequency range of 8.0-12.4 GHz using an HP-8410B network analyzer. The results show that the characteristics of lithium ferrite nanocrystals, such as microstructures, grain sizes and scattering states and content in the binders, had great influence on their microwave absorbing properties.
