Abstract

  Recently, many researches on stress management have been conducted in the field of psychology. Stress management is very important theme today's Japan. In this paper this is mainly interpreted as a problem of healthy people's minds.

  The many stress management programs have been experiments for introducing its thought and method on the programs of mental health in Japan. But in this paper its thought and method are mainly based on Naikan Therapy.

  Naikan means “introspection” in English. Naikan Therapy is a form of psychological treatment practiced in Japan over the past fifty years.

  The author presents the effect of Naikan Therapy on Japanese mental health practice, through the consideration of outline and method of Naikan Therapy, and application of mental health. Naikan Therapy is one of the most effective techniques for improving the people's process of cognitive appraisal.

  As a result, it is hoped that many people experience Naikan Therapy in Japan.
