HR, BP, Vmax and dp/dt/IIT are employed as parameters, and seventy-two mongrel dogs, weighing 15-20kg, are used. Control values of seventy-two dogs are follows: HR;163±2.7beats/min (M±SEM), BP; systolic-159±3.5mm Hg, diastolic-102±2.5mm Hg, Vmax; 1.35±0.059ML/sec, dp/dt/IIT;1459±139.0sec-2. Propranolol and LB-46 decrease HR significantly.LB-46 shows a more remarkable hypotensive effect than propranolol, while there is no appreciable difference in Vmax and dp/dt/IIT. In contrast to propranolol and LB-46, Kö 1366 is rather hypotensive than bradycardiac, and lacks consistence of effect on Vmax and dp/dt/IIT. KL 255 has a significant bradycardiac action, and shows an inhibitory effect on other three parameters without clear dose-response linearity.
