Abstract

The purpose of this study is to perform pilot study of diving as outdoor sport which can expect acquisition of the resilience(emotional strength strong against adverse circumstances, and recuperative strength), which attracts attention these days.

The subjects of this research was 26 persons of the healthy persons who participated as the disabled labor person and volunteer staff in the 15th barrier-free diving national conference held in Okinawa from June 21 to 24, 2012. The examination method had the mental check sheet which were tested in diving field(Pre & Post1) and after one month(Post2), and extracted SIgA in saliva which means immune index before and after diving. In the disabled labor persons group, the significant difference was observed in SIgA before and after diving. In the labor healthy person group, the significant difference was observed in the mental recuperative strength before and after diving.

In this research, we found the possibility of diving as outdoor sport which give emotional strength and recuperative strength against adverse circumstances, and improvement of immunity.
