Abstract
A fairly long time has passed since database was first discussed. as a technique of information processing. After that its effectiveness, in combination with other technologicalinnovations, has been increasingly highly evaluated, and more sophisticated applications are made feasible. In this context a protein structure database was developed by us with an intention of utilizing latest technologies as far as possible. In this paper the degree of achievement in reference to the original intention and the prospect is reported. Also treated is the information service based on the protein structure database. The database as reported here is particulary characterized by its versatility of being freely used not only for retrieval but also for processing of information on user's side.
