Special Edition: 1981 JICST Classification Table•Thesaurus : JICST Thesaurus on Science and Technology-Future Problems-

Abstract

At first two types of thesaurus based on the definition of ISO 2788 are explained, and in relation to them the desirable use of thesauri at the on-line age is considered. Then it discusses direction of vocabulary control system in on-line information retrieval and the necessity of multi-languages thesauri. Also it describes objectives, definition and scope of associate descriptors which will be started for their input in JICST file in 1981, and future problems on Thesaurus maintenance.
