Abstract
Technolngical level of chinese character information processing in the People's Republic of China was searched by taking an instance of the conversational style-chinese character input system in the National Institute of Caluculation of the Science Board. The uniqueness and problems in the information processing of chinese language were summarized from the aspects of the feature in chinese language and the characters simplification, and character recognision method in the Shanghai Electric Engineering Institute was studied as a practical system. Finally, future information processing in the People's Republic of China was presumed from the opinions of Mr. Qián Xuésēn, who is one of leaders in science and technology field in the country.
