Abstract
Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Inc., started "Nikkei Telecom BIZ" as a new product of online Information service Nikkei Telecom for personal computers in October, 1990. The major feature is that it makes possible to use a commercial general-purpose communication software by employing TTY as a communication method. The other drastic changes in usual telecom features are 1) opened down load as a principle, 2) unrestricted switching of menu/command method and 3) charging system in proportion to output amount of information. In our database industry not only kinds and number of databases but also users have increased. Responding to this situation BIZ aims at realizing new development in online information services. The author introduces its outline.
