Abstract

The citation analysis combining advantages of SCI and JCR is being used in a variety of ways among the user's community, apa from the original intention of the producer. For example; evaluation of research performance of university professors, determination of journal subscription at libraries, and selection of journals for publication. As a result, quality papers tend to concentrate on inclusion in the so-called core journals in English, keeping away from the national language journals, e. g. Japanese. The cited reference search by SCI is performed on the first author of cited reference and every secondary author should be conveed into the 1st author citation format in searching. The generation search, shared reference search, etc. are also available in this fashion. In addition, the research activities of any organization can be examined using the address field, which includes name of country as well as name of corporate source. In this Internet era, it becomes necessary to locate impoant and relevant pieces of information from the flood of information. In order to meet, therefore, much more diversified requests than ever, the more complicated information retrieval techniques will be required via multiple media with different attributes.
