More than 90 percent of the whole human genomic DNA that includes 3 billion bases has sequenced and published by the Human Genome Project over past 10 years. The innovation of the computer technology has had a significant impact on the project. As a part of ALIS (Advanced Science Information Systems) Project, we have developed a database named HOWDY that can link many different human genome databases on the Internet dynamically. HOWDY allows scientists to search any human genomic data by putting one query word such as a gene symbol, an accession number and a keyword. In preparation for the future, innovative databases like this will be the key to solve bioinformatics problems.
