Grasping dynamic population by "Mobile Spatial Statistics": From the viewpoint of tourism disaster and stranded persons

Abstract

Recently, many local governments in Japan have put effort into sightseeing. And big data analysis using mobile phones and smartphones is gaining attention for grasping the trends and the flows of tourists. This thesis deals with "dynamic population" by " Mobile Spatial Statistics" provided by NTT docomo. While reviewing the "static population" by the national census, this paper presents the idea of "Away Population" as a view of the dynamic population, considers the significance and possibility of grasping "Away Population", and makes recommendations for utilization in the future administration management, specifically, while raising examples of Shizuoka prefecture, Fuchu city, and Saitama prefecture.
