Abstract
Purpose: What are the students confusing during the clinical practice course? The purpose of this study was to perform the clinical practice course more smoothly and to make full use of it by investigating the student's satisfaction of their supervisor's teaching style and the actual conditions of the clinical practice course.
Subjects and Methods: The questionnaire was done to the 141 fourth year students who belong the Orthoptics and Visual Sciences department.
The period for this questionnaire on the clinical practice course was three years from 2007 to 2009, after the first and the second term practice courses had finished.
Results: As an analysis of questionnaires it has been elucidated that the students felt confused by various different aspects of the clinical practice course. The student's confusion increased during the first term, and decreased during the second term depending on their accumulation of experience.
Conclusion: We introduced our educational practices that extend to the clinical practice course to try them out with our students by class year. We discuss how to incorporate the results of the questionnaires in practical classroom education. Following that, we consider how we can make the clinical practice course more solid from now on.
