Abstract

The solubilization of ethanol, acetone and methyl acetate in single and mixed states by dodecylammonium propionate (DAP) in toluene was studied by the aid of GLC. The effect of addition of imidazole on the solubilization of ethanol and acetone by DAP was also studied. The following results were obtained :
(1) The amount of ethanol solubilized by DAP increases by the presence of acetone or methyl acetate.
(2) The amount of acetone and methyl acetate solubilized by DAP increases by the presence of ethanol.
(3) The amount of ethanol and acetone solubilized by DAP increases by addition of imidazole.
