History on Journals of Japan Oil Chemists' Society (JOCS)
Since 1951, the Journal of Japan Oil Chemists' Society (JOCS) had been a leading source for technical papers related to the fats and oils industries. JOCS publishes two monthly scientific journals. One is the “Journal of Oleo Science” (JOS) which is published in English and the other is “Oleoscience” mostly in Japanese. The Journal of Oleo Science (JOS) will turn 20 in 2020 (Vol. 69). In 2015, the JOS introduced two new categories: “Nutrition & Health Function” and “Essential Oils & Natural Products.” And also “Medical Chemistry” is introduced in 2017, and “Cosmetic Science” in 2023. Now it covers the following categories: ・OILS & FATS ・DETERGENTS, SURFACTANTS, INTERFACE & COLLOID ・BIOCHEMISTRY & BIOTECHNOLOGY ・MEDICAL CHEMISTRY ・NUTRITION & HEALTH FUNCTION ・CHEMISTRY & ORGANIC SYNTHESIS ・ESSENTIAL OILS & NATURAL PRODUCTS ・COSMETIC SCIENCE ・GENERAL SUBJECTS
The main object of the Society’s journals is to advance the fats and oils sciences and related fields with research reports, information exchange, and high-quality discussion. The average review time for articles submitted to the journals is around three weeks for the first decision. JOS applies to Creative Commons License 4.0(CC BY, CC BY-SA)and the complete texts of all of the Society’s journals can be freely accessed through J-STAGE. The JOS editorial committee hopes that the content of its journals will be useful to your research, and also invites you to submit your original work to the journals.
