Abstract
The fed-batch culturing of Mortierella ramanniana grown on decane as carbon source resulted in 22 g/L of fungal cell at 7 days. The content of phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) in the cell was 2.4 and 1.3 %, respectively. About 30 % of the esterified fatty acids was γ-linolenic acid (GLA), more than 60 % PC and 46 % PE contained GLA. The production of PC and PE containing GLA were estimated to be about 300 mg/L and 125 mg/L, respectively.
