The results obtained through a series of tests described in the foregoing lines indicate the fact that xylocaine has no peculiar effect on the vasomotor center influence coramine and amyl nitrite examined in the specific areas of respiration, blood pressure and cardiograph. In view of the fact that in death respiratory movement stops earlier than than of heart, it is found advisable to administer a stimulant for the respira-center rather than for the vasomotor center when a shock is caused due to the administration of xylocaine.
