The aim of this study was to use qualitative research methods to identify similarities and differences in the experiences of four female occupational therapists (OTs) who have successfully balanced work and family life. Through the application of Trajectory Equifinality Modeling (TEM), the findings revealed that these OTs encountered various barriers during their careers, including organizational policies, staffing issues, childcare availability, and time constraints. Despite these challenges, the OTs received crucial support and understanding from their families and colleagues, enabling them to balance work and family responsibilities through highly flexible systems such as paid time off. They also prioritized self-improvement by taking part in various online training courses. However, the study also uncovered instances of self-sacrifice, such as working during breaks and weekends, or foregoing desired career changes to prioritize family commitments.
