Abstract
In a rural urban area, such as Morioka city, many retail stores and residential area are located in suburbs and the people tend to move out from the central urban area to the suburbs. A transit bus is not chosen, but a traffic jam takes place every morning on a roadway. The urban structure and transportation systems in the future should be designed considering with the spatial accessibility over the urban and suburbs area. This paper presents a geographic information system that can measure the accessibility between central urban area and suburbs by a bus and foot.
