This paper describes the estimation of a disaggregate joint-choice model for destination and travel mode for non-grocery shopping trips made on sundays. The data ware collected for the purpose of this study in a local city Nagaoka, Niigata. The alternatives are two destinations and four travel modes. Estimation of the joint-choice model proved to be feasible, and statistically more acceptable than the conditional-choice models. The aggregate elasticities of the joint-choice model were examined to gain the short-term effects of transportation and commercial policy options.
