Population Estimation and Calculation of the Average Distance to a Facility Using the Grid System Data

Abstract

The grid system data in Japan has been constructed since 1965. However, there are few cases in which the grid system data is used appropriately in city planning. In this paper, we discuss the good use of the grid system data in population estimation and calculation of the average distance of a facility. As a final result, the degrees of estimation errors in the problems were obtained.
