Abstract
THE ROAD NETWORK HAS A CAPACITY FOR TRAFFIC FLOW AS AN UPPER LIMIT OF TRAVEL DEMAND, BECAUSE EACH NODE AND LINK IN THE NETWORK HAS A TRAFFIC CAPACITY. THE ROAD NETWORK CAPACITY IS DEFINED AS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF VEHICLE TRIPS WHICH CAN BE LOADED ON THE ROAD NETWORK UNDER THE SPECIFIC RESTRAINTS. IN THIS PAPER WE DISCUSS THE STRATEGIES OF INCREASING THE ROAD NETWORK CAPACITY CONSIDERING THE NETWORK CHARACTERISTIC (ROAD NETWORK PATTERN, LINK CAPACITY) AND FLOW CHARACTERISTIC (LAND USE PATTERN, PATH FLOW) IN LADDER NETWORK PATTERN.
