Abstract
This study aims to examine basic issues on the bus system planning to enhance transportation mobility for elderly people, considering characteristics of travel behavior and efforts on elderly people. The main purpose of this paper is as follows: the first is to clarify the travel behavior or elderly people and point out transportation problems, the second is to examine what elderly people wish on the introduction of this kind of bus system, the third is to show how to evaluate transportation service by using generalized time, the fourth is to estimate the coefficients of generalized time and the value of time reflecting travel effort, and the fifth is develop the transportation mode-change model to this type of bus system incorporating the generalized time.
