Abstract
Nowadays, plenty of vacant spaces in found in the center of Tokyo, and most of them are left unused or temporarily used as parking lots. Therefore it is important that we reconsider those space and utilize them. In this study, we investigate the present condition and character of 1,967 vacant spaces in Shinjuku-ku, comprehend their influence on regional community and consider the problems and possibilities of them in the future. on utilization of the vacant spaces, it is important to consider the points as follows.
