Abstract
The study is performed on 36 medium and 49 small size cities in local area, and it is focused on the analysis of compactness of the urban structure. Following issues are identified based on analysis and evaluation of compact structure. (1) Compactness of urban structure is evaluated with the area and the density of distribution of urban function. (2) The suburban functions influence the compact structure, so that the further analysis should be carried.
