Abstract
The purpose of his paper is to clarify the form and site type of the detached houses rebuilding after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Disaster area and to evaluate their effects on the townscape. We used the observation on the detached houses rebuilding and the questionnaire to their dwellers in two densely built-up areas. The result is as follows: 1) there are many cases belong to the 2 or 3 story and narrow frontage type, and there are many bases belong to the type which can not contain the effective open-spaces. 2) The relation is observed between lot size and that type.
